No! We are open to all of the public and we’re happy to have you.
We have hours to suit your needs. We have morning and afternoon group classes starting as early as 6:15am, and even Saturday options, which will fit around your work schedule. We offer personal training at almost all hours of the day Monday through Saturday to fit with your schedule.
If you can pick up a weight, you can come! We are open to any age range, however we do specialize in the 50 and plus population.
No, we are not a membership based facility. We offer introductory rates for new clients to try us out. And we offer very competitive pricing options for our standard rates, whether you prefer to buy one class or personal session at a time, or a multiple session pack for a better rate.
While we leave injury rehab and therapy in the hands of knowledgeable physical therapists, we do love to work with those who have clearance from their doctor for physical activity and are in the process of healing and regaining strength. We love to work with and benefit the many of our clients who have dealt with or are dealing with knee replacements, hip replacements, back surgeries, stroke, osteoporosis, cancer, low back pain, and so much more.
Our group classes are appropriate for anyone who has a moderate fitness level that is free of injury or extensive limitations. If you have any physical condition or injury that limits your ability, most often personal training is appropriate. Personal Training is always a great place to start, and necessary for some, to access where you are at and then determine if group classes are a fit for you.
We recommend general exercise/gym attire with tennis shoes. For gentlemen, we strongly recommend compression shorts under your gym shorts, and trust us we’ll all be grateful for it.
I started doing personal training in 2010, after moving out of a career in Real Estate. My passion for helping people, led me to start working at Sun City several years ago, and I fell in love with working with the active aging population. I have always been active and have always had a love of fitness. I’m certified through NASM for Corrective Exercise, and Golf Fitness. I hold certifications for Balanced Body Pilates Reformer Level I and II, TRX Group, ISSA Personal Training, and I’m currently in the process of obtaining my Functional Aging Institute Certification. When I’m not training, I like to run, bike, and spend time with my 2 children. I decided to open Fit4Living because it had been my dream of mine for some time to open my own gym. I love working with seniors, so this opportunity was the perfect combination.
With over 20 years teaching in the fitness industry I focus on a holistic and functional approach to movement with targeted core strengthening. My degree is in Mass Communications/Broadcasting/Psychology and I have spent years working in Recreational therapy in a hospital, teaching classes in studios, wellness centers, corporations, senior centers, gyms, and elementary schools, as well as doing Personal Training and managing an aquatic department. Because of this passion for people and fitness I was nominated as one of the 3 favorite Pilates Instructors in Placer County for Style Magazine. My Certifications include: AFFA Personal Trainer, Balanced Body Pilates Reformer 2 certified, AFFA Group Fitness certified, Powerhouse Pilates certified, Yoga Fit certified, Health & Fitness Instititute (C.S.U.) aqua aerobics certified, aerial yoga, aqua yoga/aqua pilates, water safety/AED/CPR certified, health coach certified and many continuing education courses. Inspired by Joseph Pilates’ notion that ‘physical fitness is the prerequisite to happiness’, I’m motivated to bring the joys of health, wellness & nutrition to others, so they may reap the benefit of a healthy lifestyle. Please come to my classes expecting a fine balance of intensity and fun!
I am a certified personal trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. I believe that if you enjoy what you do for exercise you will make it a priority. So when I’m not in the gym, I am outdoors riding bikes, rollerblading, or playing tennis, anything outdoors. My priority when training my clients is to make it a fun and effective workout with results that count. I enjoy helping all my clients overcome limitations from either back injuries, knee pain, arthritis, etc. with stretching, proper form and patience. I specialize in functional movement training, flexibility training with foam rolling, balance training, and small group training. It is very rewarding to train a client in helping him or her reach their personal fitness goals. I believe in “Do what you love and love what you do” and it shows in my training and my client relationships.
I have always been a lover of movement and feeling connected in my body. Right from my first yoga class many years ago, I knew I wanted to teach it. I completed a 200 hour yoga teacher training in 2004, and has taught ever since. I was then introduced to Pilates in 2005 and recognized the benefits right away. I completed the 488 hour comprehensive Pilates certification through Balanced Body University. I have also completed training for the Bodhi Suspension system, Barre, MOTR, and CoreAlign. My passion is to help others feel healthy, and experience the joyfulness of movement in their bodies. I love that there is more to learn every day. When I am not teaching, you will find find me swimming, hiking, kayaking, and being outdoors.
